- The Glencoe Village improvement board met Tues. evevning. President Sayles presided. The main issue discussed was payment for road repairs. Attorney Olsen said the estimate for paving is $20,333.21. He said improvements over $100,000 should be presented to the Alley and Streets Improvement Board. Olson also recommended an ordinance "to clarify the chaotic condition of the streets". Also at the meeting, plans for sidewalk improvement were discussed, following approval by the Supreme Court; this project was initiated 2 years ago by Mr. H. L. Lloyd and Gertrude Uthe. After this discussion, the Improvement Board meeting was adjourned and the Regular Meeting of Trustees convened. An ordinance was introduced to make the names of streets uniform. Entire streets will be either "avenue" or "street". President Sayles set up a committee to consult with the City Engineer regarding numbering lots and houses. Members will be Trustees Edwards, Moeller and Robinison.
