Frank Wilson, bakery firm head, leader of boy scouts, succumbs [heading]
Frank A. Wilson, 65, of 1118 Central avenue, Wilmette, one of the community's foremost business men, and a leader in the Boy Scout movement along the north shore, passed away at his home last Saturday evening. He had been in failing health since February. Mr. Wilson established his bakery business in Wilmette, now located at 1162 Wilmette avenue, 32 years ago. A branch was later established at 406 [unclear] Green Bay road, Kenilworth. Always interested in the Boy Scout movement, Mr. Wilson attended the Scout camp in the north woods often, and last summer was there for seven weeks. He was a member of the committee which founded the camp several years ago and was also one of the group which organized the North Shore area council. In the village, he was a committee-man for Troop 2 and acted as scoutmaster of the organization for some time. Other activities in which he was interested included the Congregational church, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary club. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Helen Taggart Wilson; by a son, Robert, also of Wilmette; and by a brother, Thomas, of Ceres, Calif. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Congrevational church, with interment at Memorial Park cemetery.- Featured Link
