Mrs. James Baker, 237 Hill street, is at Benton Harbor, Mich.
Miss Elizabeth Haskins recently returned to Wells College, Mass.
Miss Gladys Prudden is spending two months in Indianapolis, Ind.
Miss Hazel Pierson has re-entered Northwestern university this year.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Baldwin, 212 Woodbine avenue, are at Champaign, Illinois.
Mr. Donald M. Gallie will attend the Illinois Dental college, Chicago, this year.
There will be a Cabaret dinner at the Ouilmette Country club on Saturday evening.
Mrs. Thomas Vogeli of Minneapolis, Minn., is the guest of Mrs. M. B. Skinner this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Forbes of Rogers Park has moved into their new home at 132 Ninth street.
The reading circle met with Miss Georgiana Rogers, 914 Forest avenue, on Monday afternoon.
Miss Mildred Prudden is spending this week as guest of Mrs. Walter Y. Clark, 125 Fourth street.
Miss Helen Skinner will study vocal at the School of Music, Northwestern university, this year.
Miss Marion Roberts entertained the Northwestern chapter of Delta Gamma at her home on Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. W. H. Southwick of Streator, Ill., is the guest of her sister, Mrs. James D. Colt, 1236 Greenwood avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Koontz, 1135 Lake avenue, returned Monday from Mount Clemens, Mich., and Lake Geneva, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl J. Smith, 208 Woodbine avenue, entertained at dinner on Friday evening. Covers were laid for twelve.
Miss Ruby Riddiford, 1035 Greenwood avenue, entertained a number of young ladies at luncheon on Wednesday of this week.
Miss Helen Pope, 910 Lake avenue, will study oratory at the Cumnock School of Oratory, Northwestern University, this year.
The Wilmette union, W. C. T. U., will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the home of Mrs. M. S. Bisbee, 735 Tenth street, at 2:30 p.m.
Messrs. Louis Bruch, Harold Smith and Herman Pomper left this week for Ann Arbor, Mich., where they will attend the university.
Mrs. George L. Dyer and daughter, Esther, 1010 Chestnut avenue, have recently returned from the east, where they spent the summer.
The North End circle of the Congregational church will meet Monday with the new chairman Mrs. Lester E. Mee, 1027 Greenwood avenue.
Miss Elizabeth Casey returned last week from Europe where she has been spending the summer studying at the University of Madrid, Spain.
The Misses Alice Watson, Janes Moulton, Olive Skelton and Marion Roberts are attending the Chicago Kindergarten institute this year.
Mrs. Arthur Taylor, Central avenue, entertained at luncheon on Wednesday in honor of Mrs. Foster Branson, who expects soon to leave Wilmette for Kansas City.
An article appears in the October number of the Ladies Home Journal entitled, "Why So Much Meat," writtem by George F. Butler, M. D., 1011 Lake avenue. Dr. Butler is professor of preventive medicine in the Chicago College of Medicine and Surgery and editor of The Dietetic and Hygenic Gazette.
Among the new students at Northwestern university this year are Miss Dorothy Cody, Miss Adele Williams, Miss Ruth Lasher, Miss Helen Gemmill, Jannette Tuthill, Allan Anderson, Edwin Besser, Kenyon Pope, Douglas Hoffman, Lawrence Turnball of Glencoe and formerly of Wilmette and Harry Flynte.
Mr. Fred Buckman has been quite ill with tonsilitis.
Miss Edith Monroe left for Downer college, Milwaukee, last week.
Mrs. Margaret Haigh of Evanston visited friends and relatives in Wilmette Sunday.
Miss Alice Watson has been cadeting in the Edgewater public school for the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Thursby of Madison, Wis., are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Huntsman.
Mrs. Terry of Highland Park spent Sunday with Mrs. F. G. White, 1021 Central avenue.
The Royal Neighbors will hold a card party in Jones' hall Wednesday evening, Oct. 2.
Miss Wells, 153 Woodbine avenue, left this week to teach voice culture in the college at McComb, Ill.

Dr. and Mrs. D. M. Gallie and son, Donald, arrived home Saturday after a few weeks' visit in the east.
Mr. Samuel F. Stiles, 226 Doyle court, fell and severely injured his knee while in Chicago Saturday.

Mrs. Klemm attended a reception given by Mrs. W. Niemeyer of Chicago on the latter's return from Buffalo, N. Y.

Mrs. Orville D. Jones, 1615 Forest avenue, who has been spending several weeks in the east, will return home Saturday.
Master Roy Arns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arns, who has been quite ill for the past few weeks, is very much improved.
Miss Dorothy Redfield, 1023 Linden avenue, left Tuesday for Kemper hall, Kenosha. Wis., where she will attend school for the coming year.
Mrs. F. A. Buck and little son, Gordon, 1215 Lake avenue, who have been spending the summer at Petoskey, Mich., returned Sunday morning.
Mr. Ross Wilson, 829 Elmwood avenue, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Potter, who has been in Duluth for the past six months, returned to his home last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Scheidenhelm of Mendota, Ill., have been guests of their sons, Mr. Frank J. Scheidenhelm and Mr. E. L. Scheidenhelm for a couple of weeks.
Prof. and Mrs. H. E. Brown, 206 Sixth street, announce the birth of a daughter, born Monday morning. Prof. Brown is principal of New Trier High school.
Ted Rennolds, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Rennolds, 803 Greenwood avenue, left this week for Delafield, Wis., where he will enter St. John's Military academy.
Mr. Edwin Austin, 901 Oakwood avenue, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin this last year, will attend the Northwestern university Law school this year.
Miss Ada Rennolds, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Rennolds, 803 Greenwood avenue, left Monday for Bradford academy, near Boston, Mass., which she enters this fall.
Miss Agnes Bowman of Elkhart, Ind., was the week-end guest of Mrs. H. A. Pope.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Dalton, 220 Wood court, leave today for a short visit in Omaha, Neb.
Miss Janet Jones, who was the guest of Miss Gertrude Webber for a couple of weeks at the Webber summer home at Paw-Paw Lake, returned on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Webber and family, 815 Forest avenue, who spent the summer at their summer hopme on Paw Paw Lake, returned to wilmette this week.
Mrs. Geo. F. Butler and Mrs. Percival Nelson Cutler have invitations out for a party to be held at the Woman's Club building on Tuesday afternoon, October 8.
Mrs. Harry Curtis, 781 Kline street, entertained informally on Tuesday afternoon complimentary to Mrs. J. Siddall's guest, Miss Mary Garber of Madison, Ind.
Mr. Ranger of Beans Corners, Me., was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cutler one day last week. Mr. Ranger was on his way to California and stopped en route.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wincup, who have been spending their honeymoon in the east, will return Saturday to the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Graf, 1240 Gregory avenue.
Miss Dorothy Webster, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Webster, 619 Forest avenue, left on Friday last for Monticello seminary, Godfrey, Ill., where she will attend school for the coming year.
The Woman's club of Wilmette held its first meeting on Wednesday afternoon. It was "A Celtic Program," given by Miss May Hill with musical accompaniment. Mrs. Louis J. Pierson, president, and Mrs. R. W. Jordan, chairman of the membership committee, were the hostesses.
The second troop of the Wilmette Boy Scouts of America will meet tonight at 7:30 o'clock and Thursday, Oct. 3, at the same hour. James G. Barber, who is scoutmaster, extends a cordial invitation to all to visit at any of the meetings and expresses a desire to have the parents of the boys take a little more interest in the movement, and call at some of the meetings and see the scouts while they are under instruction.
