The Glencoe chapter of the Daughters of the Empire were entertained by Mrs. Wilbur Sample on Tuesday.

Mrs. Marvin Miner, who has been spending the past six weeks at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, returned home Saturday.

Miss Margaret Heuer returns this week from the Glen Eden School at Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for the vacation.

Dr. and Mrs. Dwight C. Orcutt entertained an automode of seven guests from Hampshire, Illinois, for the weekend.

The tennis tournament was finished Saturday, Messrs. F.M De Beers and Clifford Cushman winning in the men's doubles.

Mr. Nelson and daughter, Miss Mildred, of Fort Scott, Kansas, will be the weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Whitelaw.

Mr. John Jeffrey underwent an operation for appendicitis at the Presbyterian hospital last Saturday. Reports are favorable.

Mesdames John M. Chappell and Thomas Coyne will be hostesses. [illegible] The family have Saturday. During their absence a number of alterations will be made on their house.

Mr. James K. Calhoun and daughter, Miss Helen Calhoun, leave Saturday for Salt Lake City, Utah, to attend the National Credit Men's Association. Miss Calhoun will go from there to Berkeley, California.

Mr. and Mrs. [illegible] Boston were the guests last week of Mr.and Mrs. Williams. Mr. Kimbal was a former resident of Glencoe and was made welcome by a number of his old friends.

The Worth While Club held the [illegible] meeting of the season Tuesday with Mrs. Curran Weeks. A special meeting of the club wil be held at the home of Mrs. B.F. Clifford, 803 Lake Ave., Wilmette, Tuesday, June 15.

The wedding of Miss Helen Ruth Cashman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cashman, [illegible] Bradley of Chicago will take place Wednesday evening, June 16 at her home [illegible] longwood avenue.

Miss Majory [sic] Whitelaw came home Wednesday last week from the National Cathedral School, Washington, D.C. for the summer vacation. A school friend, Miss Mary Moulton of Colorado, spent the weekend with her.

Miss Martha Stuart Budd and Miss Majory B. Sibley will graduate in domestic economy from the Lewis Institute June 17. The exercises will be held at the new First Congregational Church, Washington Avenue and Ashland boulevard, Thursday, June 17, at 8 p.m.

The Young People's Sunday Afternoon Society will meet in the church parlors Sunday at 5 o'clock. Tom Pope is the leader. The subject is "The Power of Hymns."
