The gymnasium classes commenced last Tuesday at the Community house.

Mr. and Mrs. L. [Lemuel] E. Stanhope, 610 Ash street, have returned from a week's trip east

The Misses Emmet, Grace and Mattie Lamb are making an extended visit in the west.

Mrs. Jenkins of West Elm street is visiting at her old home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this month.

Mrs. George Higginson, 224 Sundset road, gave a luncheon on Sunday in honor of Sir Johnstone Forbes-Robertson

Among the young ladies who are attending the Bennett school at Milbank, New York, are the Misses Elizabeth Thorne and Cordelia and Elizabeth Carpenter.

A reception will be given at Community house on Wednesday evening to introduce the new teachers of the public schools, and to renew acquaintance with those returning for another year.

Invitations have been issued for the presentation to society of Miss Margaret Houghteling at a tea to be given tomorrow afternoon from four until seven o'clock. Miss Georgina will make her debut on November 7, and Miss Ruth Matz will be introduced on November 21.
