The Village Published Weekly by the VILLAGE THEATRE COMPANY, Wilmette, Ill. M. L. SPARR, Editor For Advertising Space apply to The PRINTING STUDIO, Wilmette, Ill. Volume 1: Number 41 Wilmette, May 8, 1915 Paramount Travel Pictures THE Paramount Travel Pictures promise especially interesting journeys in and about South America—the Great Country of Opportunity Today! On Saturday, May 1st, the Travel Pictures shown at The Village Theatre were merely introductory, giving the spectator an idea of the territory to be traversed, the educational and commercial advantages of the trip, the natural resources and beautiful scenery of the country, and showing some of the men contributing to the success of the expedition. It was also interesting to note the comedy atmosphere which is to be injected into the pictures through the brilliant work of the noted cartoonist, Mr. C. R. McCauley, formerly of the New York World. Series No. 1, which is being shown today, May 8th, begins with the Hydro-aeroplane flight at Palm Beach, and includes a trip through Florida showing the beautiful rivers, orange groves, and the vast ostrich farms—enroute toward South America. Each week these Paramount Travel Pictures will be a part of the Saturday program, in addition to the usual Paramount feature picture, affording an excellent opportunity to learn more about this great continent in a delightfully entertaining manner. IT seems impossible to overestimate the value of motion pictures today! The possibilities of the future are awe-inspiring. No medium in the world reaches more people, of all classes and ages, than the motion picture. The producers realize this, and together with the greatest artists and writers of the world, they are directing their efforts toward the betterment of their products. And they are not only looking to the present—but to years ahead. Three of the leading companies contributing to the Paramount productions have just signed a contract binding them to distribute all their efforts for the next twenty-five years through the Paramount Picture Corporation. So it is not “presto change” — it has come to stay! And what will it be twenty-five years hence? Mary Pickford FOR some time Mary Pickford has been in California, where the Famous Players Company have been producing new subjects featuring this film star. Certainly the producers have selected most appropriate subjects for our little favorite —-and we can instantly picture her splendid interpretation of the leading roles in these well known stories. ETHEL BARRYMORE has returned to the film world and will make her future appearance on the screen through the productions of the Metro Picture Corporation. Metro Pictures?
