The Village Movie Published Weekly by the VILLAGE THEATRE COMPANY, Wilmette, Ill. M. L. SPARR, Editor For Advertising Space apply to THE PRINTING STUDIO, Wilmette, Ill. Volume 1: Number 29 Wilmette, Illinois, February 13, 1915 Paramounts The Paramount Pictures this week are especially good. On Tuesday, "The Girl of the Golden West" offers an exceptionally good Western picture and story, and it is so well photographed and the scenes are so beautiful that it is considered a marvel of film production. Also the Paramount picture on Thursday, "The Italian," is particularly good. It is something quite dif- ferent again, and makes a strong appeal to all. Remember that there is a matinee Tuesday afternoon at the Village, so you can see "The Girl of the Golden West" then in case it is inconvenient for you to come in the evening. "Samson" Everyone enjoyed seeing William Farnum in "The Sign of the Cross" and Indeed the picture was a masterpiece. Again we have an opportunity to see him in the pictures,-this time in a modern play, "Samson," which by the way is not the Biblical play. Note the program and fix the date in your mind so you will not miss this. We know it will afford a splendid entertainment. Lillian Russell Be sure to see Lillian Russell in her first appearance on the motion picture screen at the Village Theatre Saturday, February 20th, matinee and three evening shows. She will appear in her famous stage production "Wildfire," and is especially charming in the many magnificent gowns worn in the picture. Special Features at the Village Theatre Effie Shannon and Herbert Kelcey in "After the Ball" MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15th Another big Monday Special! The photodrama. "After the Ball" was taken from Charles K. Harris' most famous song by that name and is full of thrills, tears, cheers and laughter. It is a play to ensnare all hearts and leave an impression never to be forgotten. Besides the excellent characterizations by Effle Shannon and Herbert Kelcey, Mr. B. McPhee does some wonderfully daring work which created quite a sensation at the time of taking the picture. The original cast supporting Effie Shannon and Herbert Kelcey appear in the film, and the picture is conceded to be one of the most massive, emotional, thrilling heart-interest pictures yet produced. It is something quite out of the ordinary, and especially worthy of commendation. "The Girl of the Golden West" featuring Mabel Van Buren, Theodore Roberts, House Peters and Anita King TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 16th Afternoon and Evening This is the second Lasky-Belasco film
