The Village Movie Published Weekly by the VILLAGE THEATRE COMPANY, Wilmette, Ill. M. L. SPARR, Editor For Advertising Space apply to THE PRINTING STUDIO, Wilmette, Ill. Volume 1:Number 21 Wilmette, Illinois, December 19, 1914 Cold Weather

It is surprising the large number of people who will "go to the movies" regardless of weather conditions. And they are well repaid, for the class of films being shown is such that a trip to the theatre in zero weather is justified. The other night when a particularly good Paramount was shown at the Village and the thermometer hovered around the zero mark our friends showed that the cold did not deter them from their favorite and inexpensive amusement. This reminds us that on Monday and Tuesday nights Charles Richman in "The Man from Home" will be sure to tempt many from their firesides, and on Thursday and Friday Tom Wise in "A Gentleman from Mississippi" will prove his worth as an attraction. You will be in pretty good company it you come out.

Are Serials Popular?
This week, today and tonight, the last of the "Trey 0' "Hearts" will be shown at the Wilmette Theatre. In the opinion of many it was a splendid serial. "The Million Dollar Mystery" drew large houses at the Village. There is no question that it was a great success. And yet we sometimes wonder if our patrons are in favor of serial pictures. It is hard for us to determine without the help of our friends. Will you help us to reach a conclusion by writing to Mr. Sparr or give him your views verbally?

St. Elmo in Perfect Photography
And right on the heels of the joyous Christmas time, we have procured a wonderful treat for our patrons. On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day we will show the dramatic masterpiece St. Elmo, in six reels. This picture has been produced with greatest care and a deep sentimental regard for the affectionate esteem in "which this great novel is held by the reading public. In picturizing the action of St. Elmo, the literary world has been rendered a rare and valuable service. The manners, customs and fashions of the civil war period have been faithfully revived and recorded upon the film where they will be everlastingly preserved. It is one of the most beautiful, artistic pictures we have yet been able to procure, and you cannot afford to miss this opportunity of seeing it. Thursday and Friday, December 31st and January 1st, at the Village Theatre.

Treat for Patrons
We have arranged another little surprise for you. Beginning with Christmas week each of our patrons will be presented with a copy of the beautiful motion picture magazine, The Paramount Weekly, free. It is well worth reading and interesting to all. Be sure and get a copy every week at the Village.

Christmas Matinees
There will be special Matinees at both the Village and Wilmette theatres Friday afternoon, December 25th. The program at the Wilmette will be especially interesting to the children. Christmas is "Children's Day" any way, and then too Friday is always "Children's Day" at the Wilmette, so the program was selected for the children.
