The Village Movie Paramounts—Continued 3 making, and she and Gerald elope, but Arnold pursues the pair and succeeds in spiriting Letty away from her new-made husband immediately after the ceremony. He takes her to the Boyd mansion in New York, and introduces her as his wife, telling Letty this course is necessary to protect her reputation, but not fully explaining why. Letty's parents do not know which of the Boyd's she married- Letty reluctantly consents to remain in the Boyd home for a time, as Arnold s "wife in name only," until such time as Gerald should come to claim ber, which she thinks will be soon. The situations which follow swiftly illustrate in turn Letty's ignorance of the world, her natural innocence, her unfamiliarity with customs of society, her hot temper, and finally her generosity and sympathy. The strange secret which Arnold is guarding from her is at last revealed and there is a big readjustment of relations. At the crises of the drama, Letty's strength of character is the determining force, she realizes the noble nature of the man wlio has guarded her, and the little drooping wildftower finally revives and blooms happily in the garden of love. Harold. Lockwood plays the part of Arnold Boyd.
