As you know, last week was the birthday of our founder. Juliette L.ow, so we aIl celebrated her birthday together last Saturdav. We alI had a very enjoyable time. We took our lunch with us and ate it first. The Troop 1 girls hadsome hot soup ready for us. We then div- ided inta graups, played games, and had a good time. It started to ramn several times l)ut nothing to speak of. WXe left the woods at 3 :30 o'clock, and went back to aur meeting places. Sunday. November 4, we held "Scout's Own" in St. Francis hall. Those that were there enjoyed it very much those that. were not there missed a lot. We hope next time we have a gathering such as that we have a b etter attendance. -Helen Clarke, Troop 4. Neyer Was There Such a Jolly Meet of Troop 4 Tuesday, October 30, was a very happy day for Troop 4's Girl Scouts. A, Hallowe'en- party and a pot luck supper featured our meeting. To be sure, every one was having a lot of fun. It was ail caused by Miss Humphries and Helen Clark Elaine Chittick,. Edith, Mendun Nancy Bercaw and Jearine Stark Neyer was there such a jolly m eeting in Troop 4. There were witches and devils, cats. and spooks, cowboys 'and China- men, and everything else imaginable. After playing several Hallowe'en games we were ,called to' dinner. There was every kind of spaghetti imaginable. Meat loaf, too, salads galore-and best' af aIl a delicious cake-completed the bill of fare. Then. more games were played and the meeting was ended with "Taps." -Mary jane McCue, scribe. WINS POSTER CONTEST Only: three girls, Mary Jane Mc- Cue, Fiora Pagliarulo and Geraldine Heffernan, finished posters for Girl Scout Week. Mary Jane McCue's pos-i ter was judged the best. Troop 2 Girls -Assemble for Jolly, Spooky Time \\'hen the girls arrived at themet 1mg place of Troop 2 there was a sign on the door which read, "Enter at vour own peril," in Morse code. The room was darkened and ail were greeted by a ghastly ghost. We were sent through a mysterious tun- nel to the cloak roomn with the pen- alty of giving a forfeit if we'broke -a string. Afterward we were told it was the first degree. For the second degree we had to untangle a spider web. Each girl received a string which she foi- lowed to the end. When ail -,the strings were untangled each was giv- eni a piece of paper on -which she was ta write why she enjoyed Girl Scouts. One of the members of the hostess committee, which was giving the Hallowe'en party to help work for the hostess badge, came in and announced ail were to go for a trip in an airpiane. In turn each girl was blindfolded and taken into the hall %vhere she was placed upon an overturned chair. The chair was raised and the girl was told to jump forward. On jumping it gave you the sensation of being several feet ini the air. 1White the committee arranged the table for dinner the others played "Black magic.'" We ate dinner which consisted of some fine vegetable saup, made by Mrs. Denoyer, sand- wiches, dou hnuts, apple and pump- kin pie, co kies and candy. We closed this jayons Hallowe'eni with ""Taps."-Marilyn Prussing, scribe. LIVE LONGER! 1. As an individual,- always ob- serve traffic regulations both for the pedestrian and for the driver. 2.
