Books to make your hobby grow and books to help you cQhoose one will bie on display at the Wilmette library. Boys and girls are being invited to contribute a sample of their hobby creations, listing the books that helped in its inspiration and completion. Stamps, puppets, model boats, bird houses , model airplanes and amateur photography collections have already been offered by young hobby riders. This material, together with the books suitable for further study and pain- phlets with suggestions for the par- ents will be on display in the chil- dren's room> during the week when parents, teachers and friends are in- vited to visit their public library. Books on various subjects have multiplied rapidly in1 the last few years to meet the needs of the intelligent boys and girls interested in a subject for its own sake-for that personal satisfaction to le gained f rom an ini- dependent choice to be made,.changed or expanded at will. A unique descrip- tive list of books offering guidance to hobby riders and hobby hunters, called "À Springboard for Personal Adventure" comipiled by Anne Carrol Moore will be available for Book Week visitors. Five Are Injured in Winnetka Crash Five persons were injured in an au- tomobile accident at Lindexi and Cherry streets, Winnetka, Saturday afternoon of last week whien cars driven by Frank Hooper of 923 Lin- den avenue. Wilmette, and Mrs. J. A. Turner of 735 Foxdale avenue,' Win- netka, collided. W. MN. "Bill" Condy, of 1001 Oak- wvood avenue, Wilmette, a senior at New Trier High schiool and high rank- ing ping pong player was the most seriously injured. It was feared hie had suffered a skull fracture, but a later examination revealed his condi- tion less serious. Both Condy, and Eniil.Anderson of 82 7 Linden avenue, Wilmette, who suffered deep -lacera- tions above the right eye, were re- moved to the Evanston hospital where their injuries were dressed. Mrs. Turner sustained a broken col- lar bonie, and two. other members of hier famiily received miner injuries that were treated by Dr. F. W. Blatchford of Winnetka.
