North Shorei Field Hockey association. Coaching practice, held Wednesday afternoon, will be repeated Friday af- ternoon at 3:30 at Skokie Playfield in \Vinnetka. Saturday morning tenta- tive sélections will be made of the first, second,. and third north shore teamsto go to the Sectional tourna- ment at Madison, Wis., November 9, 10, and 11. Sunday morning, the Skokie team cornes to Skokie Playfield to be coached by Miss Cross. In the af- ternoon the Lakle Shore and Indian Hilli teams go to Milwaukee at 2 o'clock to meet two Milwaukee teams at Downer college. Undaunted by rain and cloudy skies, the Field Hockey Umpire conference was held at New Trier Higb school last Saturday afternoon, the morn- ing scliedule cancelled because of excessive rain. Miss Ann Townsend, president of the United States Field Hockey association,, was present, giv- ing demonstration of correct urnpir- ing in two exhibition games, Madison vs. Chicago, and North Shore Country day vs. Francis Parker. The Madison teani (lefeate(l Chicago .1 to 0-; the two school teams played a scoreless tie. The games were umpired by two of the most prominent umpires in this section. On Sundav at Skokie Playfield, the West Subiurban team played a north: shiore team winning 4 to , at the same tir-ne that Skokie and Lake Shore clubis of -the North Shore Field Hockev asssociation were plaving, Skokie winning. Virginia Marshall Weds James- Graham Melville When Miss Virginia Marshall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Marshall of Kenilworth, became the bride of James Graham Melville of Wilmette Saturday afternoon, she wore a gown -of ivory velvet, made with a cowl neck, long sleeves, and a short train. A littie cap, with seed pearls adorned her head. Her bouquet %vas composed of bride's roses, valley lillies, and gardenias. Miss Marshall wore a string of pearis, a gift of the groom. The brlde's mother was gowned in bine velvet and- wore a shoulder bouquet of gardenias. The Marshall house at 140 Kenil- worth avenue, where Dr. Herbert Willett. of the Kenilworth Union church read the service, was dec- orated throughout with large white chrysanthemums, pompons, ferns, and palms. The young couple returned Sunday from their honeymoon and wîll stay with the Marshalls until tbey.find an apartment. The bridegroom is, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander G.
