Octobe 4, 13 4 W I L MT T E LF,.5 Seek Gas Tax' Funds forNew Traffic Lights The Kenilworth Village board 4t its xnontbly meeting Monday nigbt adopted a resolution to be sent to the state highway department asking that an allocation be made f rom Kenilworth's share of the state gas- oline tax funds to pay for the pro- posed installation of traffic signais at the triple intersection of Green Bay road, Park drive and Kenilworth avenue. The board also made some revi- sions in the stop sign ordinance.' These revisions are initended to bring the ordinance up to date. The revised ordinance provides that Green Bay road and Kenilwortli avenue shaîl be tbrough stop streets for tbeir entire length through tbe village. For the present, however, no stop signs are to be erected on the section of Kenilworth avenue west of Green Bay road. Officiais of the village feel tbat the traffic on this portion of the street is not heavy enough to warrant erection of stop signs here at this time. Under the revised ordinance the signs may be installed and enforcement ordered at any time the board sees fit to take sucb action. Signs now in place d irect ail traf- f ic approaching Green Bay road from tbe west to stop. The sa me holds true for north and soutbbound traffic approaching that part of Kenilworth avenue from Green Bay road to Sheridan road. Stop signs along Park drive west of the tracks were removed after tbe completion of the Green Bay road widening and paving work. Park drive formerly wvas called Kenilworth avenue.
