In spite of a blizzard on Wednes- day, April 1, the Haoward gym was packed with proud mothers and fathers to watch the Physical Train-ý ing Demonstration of the pupils-of the seventh and- eighth grade boys and girls. The prograin opened with a mat drilli by the Stolp eighth grade girls. The girls.macle a very 'attractive.pic- turc on the gym floor dressed in white middies itb red ties and black bloomers. Their drili evoked enthusi- astic applause. The novelty relays by the How#;ard seventh g rade-boys were very interesting and tbe format gym- nastic drill. by the, Howard eighth grade boys was wél exectdMn sbowed that -the boys had been well trained. The Stolp seventb grade girls gave two -Danish Folk dances, "Three Men'à Reel" and "The Little Man in a Fix." Tbe children were dressed in Danisb* peasant costume. The How- ard seventh grade girls presented a tap dance, 14à11 of the girls being dressed as boys, in blue overalîs, white shirts and, big straw bats, theother * girls wearing gingbam dresses and dancing to the tune oûf scbool days. These dances were. very well' pre- sented and the parentswere' greatly pleased. The relays by the Howard igbtb grade gi rls, and circle games played by the Stolp seventh grade boys were also very interestin.g to watçh. The second balf of the program was devoted to individual atbletic skili and sbowed the pàrents. the different types of athletics taugbt the children during the fall and winter. The events for boys included a short dash, foot- ball pass, basketball goal sbooting, pull ups, and high jump. The girloý' events included a daeh,l volleyball kick, basketball throw, goal shooting, and higb jump. The program was concluded with at 8 o'cloclc. There wil e eignt bouts i the, meet i whicb the following boys from Wilmette wil compete: Bobby Winter, Harvey, Steffens,1 Harold Fisher-, Elmer Smnith. I BA SKETBA LL LEA GUES "D" LEAGUE The White, Streaks. carne to ie last week in the Playground and Rec- reation board ."D" Basketball league and trounced the St. John's team to the tune of. 48 to 7. Earl Gray of the White Streaks took the scoring honors with 16 points to bis credit. Nu1is Moe, forward for the victors, came second with 15 scores and Capt. jack Gray came third with Il. The White Streaks seemed to have gained confidence from some place, and al the efforts of the St. John's team had no effect on the scoring abjlity of their forwards. This victory kept the White Streaka in a first place tie with the Willies, and pushed the St. .John's down to a tic for third place. The Tigers took their game from. the Panthers 19 to 18. Though Frank- lin Kulp muade 14 points to take the honor forý the game, bis Panther teamn I mates were not able'to bit the basket to counteract the basket that each memnber of the Tigers mrade. The Willies beat the Nit Wits 37 to 35 to kcep their record for this round clean from defeat.
