Sattrday morning, juIy 20. Tbirty- seven of the second-period campers remained for the third term, for .which j, approximately 140 person.s were ex- pected to be enrolled*. The second period, with the. largest liumber'of campers 'in'.the history of Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan, was featured by not- able advancement. The more than twenty boyswo did flot know how. to swim progressed, to the beginners' class. At the court of honor whiîch céon- cluded the second period ýforty scouts received 'their second class- awards, ande thirty their , irest class awards. Seventeen boys were awarded the Star Scout rating,' and .12 the Life Scout. A ýtotal of 266 merit badges went to second-period campers. The following five boys were; pre- sented with the- Eagle Scout rank, the highest in scouting: Mark Fol- lansbee, Kimbal1 Urion and John Hale, members of Troop 1, Wilmette; George Simon, Troop 13, Kenilworth, and Stanley Rich, Troop 15, Win- neteka.
