Edwin M. Porter, 74, of 804 Locust Rd., Wilmette, died last Thursday in Evanston Hospital. Born in Chicago, Mr. Porter lived in Wilmette 34 years. He retired in January after 50 years as an insurance broker with the firm of Moore, Case, Lyman and Hubbard in Chicago. He is survived by his widow, Florence; two sons, Warren D., 440 Sunset Rd., Winnetka, and Marine Capt. Ross A. of Mare Island, Cal.; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Erb of Nashua, N.H., and eight grandchildren. Services were held Monday in the Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home in Wilmette. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
