(i WI-LMBTTB LIFE February 14, ·19JO · New Trier Track Squads to Meet Proviso February 15 The senior and junior track teams of New Trier High school are scheduled to meet Proviso High school at the New Trier field house this Saturday, Febt uary 15. The New Trier senior tracksters defeated Evanston two weeks ago, but lost an e.arlier match to Senn High school of Chtcago. The Gray and Green junior track team lost to both Evanston and Senn. Although the junior team has been \mabie to annex a victory thus far, the youngsters show much promise in the dash events, according to Track Coach John Nay. A·nong the star performers on the New Trier senior team are : Hugh Saxon,· Fred Williams, Walter Wanger, John Kirby, Hiram Weld, Bob Kelly, Frank Riley, Henry Bender, Paul Powell, George Boylston, and Don Matthews. Shawnee Ready for Gala Ice Carnival Saturday Eveuing Weather permitting, Shawnee Country club will hold a Festive ice carnival Saturday evening, February 15, from 8:30 o'clock until 11 o'clock, during which time the club will combine the "glories of St.' Moritz, Lake Placid, and Quebec for one glorious evening of fun and merry-making," . "Shawnee Shore" announces. The skating shelter will be transformed into a bit of north woods. Re- freshments will be served through the evening in the shelter, and music will be furnished for the skaters. There will be ice waltzers, figure -skaters, neophites, and just plain skate~s, and everyone is requested to come m costume. "Carnival costumes of any description are in order, and as a carnival without costumes is much like an ice carnival without ice, please come in costume," the club requests. A secret committee of five judges has been selected and many prizes are in store. A prize for the most elaborate costume among the women, a prize for the most bizarre costume among the men, and prizes for the most original costume among the women and the most original among the men are some of the awards which will be given. A carnival committee consisting of Mrs. Robert S. Babcock, Mrs. Harry C. Daniels, Howard L. Fogg, E. H. Yonkers, Jr., Arthur Seibold, Jr., Kenneth Page, and David Anderson has completed arrangements for a gala affair. There will be many colored lights, music, refreshments, costumes, exhibition skaters, and much real pleasure and amusement for all participants, of spectators.
