MacLean, debate coach, in preparation for a debate with the Northwestern university freshmen on March 14 with the dual debates with two Suburban l~ague schools, Morton of Cicero and Proviso of Maywood. Coach MacLean announced a final selection of affirmative and negative speakers on the debating squad this week. Names Affirmative Squad The entire affirmative squad has had no previous interscholastic debating experience. Allen Philbrick is captain. The other affirmative speakers are Paul Hoskins, Bill Horsting, who has had some local debating experience as a member of the Gavel club at New Trier, and Helen Bosley, who was a member of the Wranglers, former girls' ·debating organization. Four of the six students who arc members of the debating squad as ne~ative speakers have had one year of interscholastic debating experience. They are: Lowell Comee, Lois Goldstein, Albert Denton, and John Curtis, an alternate on the New Trier team last year. Denton is captain of the negative debaters this year. Two other members of the negative sq uad, Jack Loeb and Dorothy Schoenfield, have debated as members· of New Trier forensic organizations.
