New Books WILMETTE LIFE s The Alpha Phi Mothers' club has planned a benefit bridge party to be given at the Alpha Phi Sorority house on Northwestern campus, January 16, at 2 o'clock. In the first place, William ·Haines is the star; second, third, etc., come Anita Page, Ernest Torrence, . Karl ·Dane, and John Miljan. The picture is "Speedway" and fulfills the promise of its title by thrilling automobile races and daring ~pi sodes in the air. Of course, Haines brings his wise-cracks-and they're clever!
