Rogers, known as "Smoky the Fire Clown," in the public schools of the district. "Smoky" who is known to millions of children in all parts of the United States, is sent out by the Western Actuarial bureau to teach the children how to · prevent fires and how to put them out. Many children owe their lives to this teaching. "Smoky" appeared at Glenview and Northbrook on December 3, Deerfield and Highland Park on December 4, and before the children of Wilmette on December 5. December 4 was held open for Winnetka and Glencoe, but the schools of these villages had other events scheduled on this date which made it impossible for .him to appear.
