Paul V. McNutt, national commander of the American Legion: Col. Ho\\·ard P. Savage, past tl_ational commander, and David Lee Shillinglaw, Illinois Department commander. The ~,. ilmctte Legionnaires are to be represented in the day's activities hv its Drum and Bugle corps, which will enter the prize competition in the· street procession. The local post will also enter a float in the parade. depicting "The Birth of the Legion." \Vilmettc wilt also vie for the award \\·hich is to go to the Legion post having the largest j)ercentage of attendance at the affair. PAIR FOR NET .EVENT -· Secretary Complete Drawings Within Few Days for Annual Tournament at New Trier High School Courts Drawings are expected to he made ' the la_tter part of this week or the first part of next \veek for the annual summer tennis tournament on the New Trier High school courts. Additional entries ba,·c been coming in during the past week. In the senior singles division F. R. Kilner, F. \V. Holter, J. ]. Samson, D. A. Knapp, and R. I. Adams ar~ among t~e new entries, while in the junior singles the names of Mel Augdahl, ]. Corns, Ed Harrell, Jean Samsen, and R. M. Brown have been adderl. There are several new entries also in that section of the tournament for boys under fifteen years and in the junior and senior doubles. G. H. Flaningam, who is in charge of the tournament, plans to hold a double's meet for boys under fifteen if there are enough entries. Prize~ will be awarded to winners in all sections of the tournament. The champions probably will receive racquets, while runners-up will be given a less expensive prize. BOARD. APPROVES.VAST STORM SEWER PROJECT Ordinance Establishing Michigan · Avenue as One- Way Street Passed Regarded as probably the most extensive improvement program to be projected by the Village in many years, the two separate sewer projects planned for the area west of Ridge road each moved a step nearer to realization last Tue.sday night when the Village. board gave its final approval to the $1,800,0()9 storm water sewer system as previously , approved by the Board of Local Improvements, and ordered the $233,0.31 sanitarv sewer project in section of the the Village known as the Hughes, Brown and Morgan subdivision ~eferred to the Sewer and Water committee and public notice given that the matter would be acted _upon by the Village board at its meeting on August 6. - Serves 200 Acres The ordinance giving the board's sanction to the first project goes into effect immediately. About 2,000 acres of land will be served by the system and the engineer's plans indicate that a total of more than twenty-six miles' of sewer will be laid. The.
