Bihlmanns, minister of foreign affairs in the Republic of Latvia and holder of several other important posts, will lecture Thursday afternoon, July 11, at 4:30 in Harris hall under auspices of th~ summer ~es sion of Northwestern university. Dr. Bihlmanns will be in Chicago for only a short visit and Dr. Clyde L. Grose, summer session pirector, feels fortunate in having arranged . for his lecture in Evanston. He is expected to speak about affairs in his couptry and Baltic relations. At present Dr. Bihlmanns is minister plenipotentiary to this country. University Life in Engla.nd to Be Topic of Summer Lecturer "University Life in England" will have a vivid portrayal in an illustrated lectvre by Dr. \Villiam Montgomery . McGovern, member of the Northwestern university faculty, Monday evening at 8 at Harris hall. This is one of the Northwestern university summer session series, which the public is invited to attend. Dr. McGovern is widely traveled, havi11.g spent considerable time in the Orient, and is known for his ability as an entertaining and informative lecturer. He is a graduate of Oxford and will use his experiences of undergraduate clays in his next Monday's lecture. He joined the Northwestern faculty last winter and is also teaching in the summer session. To Visit Montgomery Ward's Other events of the summer session during the next week include three conducted trips. One to ~Iontgomery Ward's, one of the world's greatest mail-order houses, will be taken Friday afternoon. the party leaving the Davis street "L" station at 1 :30 with Prof. Leon G. Kranz in charge. Saturday he will take a party to the stock yards and the General Manufacturing com- pany. They will leave the Da-vis street "L" station at 8:15 a. m. Sunday a trip wilt be conducted to the Univ~rsity of Chicago chapel under auspices of the Y. \V. C. A. Announcement states that the party will leave the Davis street "L" station at 8:30 a. m. This Y. \V. C. A. trip is one of a series of four to be taken, the others being on successive Sundays to Olivet Baptist (colored) church; Rabbi Mann's J cwish synagogue and the Greek Orthodox church. Three Outdoor Concerts Dr. Clyde L. Grose, director of the summer session, has arranged a series of three outdoor concerts to be given for the public in the university meadow. The first, Thursday evening, July 11, will be by the summer session band of 100 pieces which Prof. Glenn Bainum directs, and hy the summer session chorus. Prof. John Beattie is . in charge of the chorus which numhers over 100 voices. Enrollment in the summer term ·is the largest in the history of the school, totaling betwe~n 2,400 and 2,500, Dr. Grose reports.
