F. Snydacker on Friday last. This was Presiden f·s day in honor of the president for this year, Mrs. Edwin Phelps. It was a most interesting meeting with a full discus sion of the program and, in addition , new.5 regarding the coming exodus of eight . .~embers of the club to Philadelphia, to attend the annual meeting of th e Garllen Club of America and of two members to London, England, to attend the wonderful series of events planned by the English Speaking union for two weeks, the last of May and the first of June. This invitation was sent by the English .speaking union to the members uf the board of the Garden Club of America and to the presidents of each affiliated garden club, inviting them to be their guests during this period and to visit the gardens in and about London. The plans have been received and are m::>st inviting. It is a great privilege. It being impossible for Mrs. Phelps to go at this time, Mrs. Snydacker goe s in her place and Mrs. S. D. Flood is a member of the board of the Garden Club of America and goes as one of that group. The next meeting \\·ill occur on May 10, at the home of Mrs. Flood on Kenilworth avenue. Mrs. Ruf will soeak on "Fertilizers" and Mrs. Grant Ridgway will speak ·on "Arboretums." you went to church three times on Sunday and to prayer meeting every Wednesday night-and very likely attended regularly a two weeks' rev~val meeting in mid-winter? Times, you say, have changed. No o~c does that any more. Golf and the auto- . mobile and other forms of recreation have taken a large share of the Sabbath. The ·Church is asking. for less . time today than it has ever asked in its history. One short service is ali that is held in our Wilmette Churches, and the preaching is better and the music finer than in the olden days. Mart's spiritual needs are changing. Surely in the allotment of your time you can devote an hour of the Sabbath day to fellowship with Christian people. Mrs. Edgar W. Burchard Dies at Kenilworth Home Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar W.
