Hanna staged the fashion revue. ·T ea in Kenilworth Inaugurates Drive . for Infant Welfare The Infant Welfare ·soc1etv of Kenilworth held an annual "get. together" meet:ng on Monday of this week with Mrs. Arthur Ruf, chairman of the work in Kenilworth, in char!!e of the m eeting. Together with hoer commiUee a . most interesting and plea'sant afternoon had been planned. Miss Sara Place, the superintendent of the Infant Welfare society of Chicago, came out to Kenilworth to tell the members about the work the society is doing and while thi·s was fairly clear in the minds of most of her listeners. it was an added inspiration to hear her tell oi the progress the society has made and to hear the little intimate details of some of the intere'3ting cases the stations are helping. This is "Infant Welfare Week" and the drive is on to raise fund s. Every resident will be approached and any gi ft to the society will be appreciated. Philip Armour, Ill of Chicago, who ha s recently been elected to the pre5i dency of the Infant \Velfare societ\', also told of the work and its value and its needs. He suggested that in making wills or in planning to leave sums of money to charitable projects to remember thi·3 society. Its need is that it be endowed. Lawyers are urged to remember this when thev have cli ents asking advice as to the distribution of their property and to encourage gifts to this most worthy cause. The rooms were most arti·stically beautified by masses of ca11a lilies and forsythia arranged by Mrs. Bentley McCloud and Mrs. Hugh Foresma n, and a most delicious tea wa·3 served. After the transaction of the regular business affairs, a delightful talk on "Italian Gardens" was given by Mrs. \¥or~h Dunham. The speaker wa·3 able to touch upon her subject not only from the viewpoint of a traveler who glimpses foreign gardens in her journeys but from that of one who has really known them. Mrs. Dunham has members of her own family residing in Italy and has made extended vi'3its there. She brings to her talk an intimate and personal touch that charms her hearers. Mrs. Howard C. Bent, 338 Melrose avenue Kenilworth, has her sister, Mrs. I. W. Baker of Rye, N. Y., visiting her. Last week Thursday Mrs. Bent entertained at luncheon and bridge in honor of her guest. Mrs. Baker is · well known in Chicago and several parties have been given in her honor. She expects to be here until the last of next week.
