April 12, 1929 WILMETTE LIFE 47 JUNIOR LIFE Howard 8th Grade Pupils Study Art; Complete Posters After finishing the posters we made to advertise the annual Garden market, the eighth graders of the Howard school have resumed their study o£ certain pictures and their artists. Last Fall, we studied "Mona Lisa," Leonardo da Vinci, "The Fall of Man," Michael Angelo; "Lavinia," Titian; "Sistine Madonna," Raphael, and "St. John ~he Baptist," Del Sarto. This spring we are studying "The Figthing Temeraire" Turner, "The Valley Farm," Constable, "Dance of the Nymphs," Corot, "The Angelus," Millet and "The Church at Vernon," Monet. These pictures were selected by the Junior Art league of New York. Certain of these pictures were taken because of their popularity and other~ were selected to help appreciate the fine points of art-Virginia McConnell, 8A Howard. The Howard 7A-II basketball team are tied for the championship with Howard 7B-II. Howard 7B lost one game. Howard 7A lost their last game, March 18, with Stolp 7A-II. At the end of the first half the score was 4 to 4.
