April .12, 1929 Purple N atators Top All Rivals; Set New Records Northwestern university's swimming team which recently won the national intercollegiate . championship at St. Louis completed the season with a series of records never before equ~lled in intercollegiate competition. The Purple natators competed in twelve dual meets, winning them all and piling up a total of 451 points to their opponents 240. In water polo the Northwestern team tied with Illinois for the Big Ten championship, each team winning all of their matches. ::-.Jorthwestern scored 71 goals to their opponents 33. Fourteen records, three of them world record's are held by Coach Tom Robinson'~ athletes. These marks were made during the past season. Aside from the fourteen records the Purple mermen bettered a number of marks on their w.estern trip. These included nine Pacific coast records, five Rocky Mountain conference records and four Missouri Valley marks.
