Hamm Ia Re-Elected All members of the Kenilworth Village board whose terms expire this month were named as candidates for reelection at a Village caucus held in Kenilworth last week. The Kenilworth Village election is to be held Tuesday, April 16. Members of the board who were nominated to succeed themselves in the offices they now hold are : Ralph R. Hawxhurst, president, John L. Wilds, and Richard Wolfe. Joseph Joyce was nominated for a full term as trustee · to succeed Leslie McArthur. Mr. McArthur, whose term would have expired this month, resigned several months ago when business duties ., called him east. There are six trustees on the Kenilworth board, three of whom are elected each year for two year terms. George Rothermel was the choice of the caucus to succeed himself as police magistrate of Kenilworth. Frank R. Young acted as chairman of the caucus and Ralph Starr as secretary. Fox Is Named Director of 1st National Bank At a recent meeting of the stockholders of the First National Bank of Wilmette Charles H. Fox, a senior vice-president of the Chicago Trust company of Chicago, was elected a director. Mr. Fox has long been prominent in banking circles and has been active in both the Illinois Bankers' association and the American Bankers' association. He was formerly treasurer of the Illinois Bankers' association and a member of its executive council. In 1923 'he was state vice-president of the American Bankers' association. He is a vice-president and director of the Chicago Trust company, the C. T. C. Securities company and the Monroe Safe Deposit company, the two latter named affiliated with the Trust company. He is also a chairman of the executive committee of the Old Dearborn State bank. Mr. Fox resides in Kenilworth. Seeks Trustee Post Filing time for prospective candidates in Wilmette's annual Village election Tuesday, April 16, expired Monday of this week with the United People's party of 1929 represented by a complete slate of candidates, and Earl E. Pettibone designated as a carididat~ for police magistrate on an Independent ticket. Another candidate, Arthur Lee of West . Lake avenue, who seeks a post as Village Trustee, tendered a petition, -signed by .about 350 citizens-to Village Clerk Lea J. Orr last Saturday. The exact status of Mr. Le.e, with reference to position on the ballot, remained uncertain this week, since it was stated that lie had petitioned under the banner of the United People's party, though that slate had been completely. filled at the recent People's party caucus. Mr. Lee is a subdivider interested in large properties in the far west section of the village. Mr. Pettibone, local insurance man, is a candidate in opposition to Samuel ]. Nordorf, lawyer, for the office of police magi ~ trate which for many years had not been included on Village ballots, although that office is provided for by ordinance of many years' standing. Finish Putting Roof on Howard School Addition Work o~ the new · north addition to the Howard school is progressing steadily, and the roof was put on early this week. The new addition, which balances the gymnasium annex to the south of the main wing of the Howard school, will be completed sometime this summer and will be ready for use when school re-opens after the summer vacation. It will contain an auditorium and four classrooms for the use of the kindergarten, general science classes, and art ·and music departments of the school. Bateman. uno.Pposed candidates for re-election to the Wilmette Park board, were ~iven a complimentary vote Tuesday of this wetk. Mr. Gillson received 228 votes and Mr. Bateman 236. Mr. Gillson has been president of the Park board since its or~anization twenty years a~o. while Mr. Bateman has been a commissioner for about ten years.
