Conduct Music Memory Contests for Chlldren Monday evening, April 8, at 8 o'clock is the appointed hour for the CentralLaurel Parent-Teacher association , meeting, whic~ will be held in Byron Stolp gymnasmm. It will be an enchanting hour as Jesse Lowe Smith i:s to show slides of wild flowers. Mrs. John Weedon, president of the Wilmette · 9arden club, and also member of the ~chool Beautiful committee of the P. T. A. board, has long coveted this opportunity. . The eighth grade girls will present a . style show under the direction of Miss Woodley, who has helped them · make their costumes. A delightful part of this progra'm 1 will be vocal selections by Miss Helen Smith and Mis s Henrietta Robertson. A get-together tea is being held at the home of Mrs. R. G. Read, 901 Central avenue, for Miss Scott and mothers of sixth grade pupils. The thirtieth annual convention of Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers is to be held in Mattoon, Ill., April 17-20. "The Art of Living" will he the theme, and there will be institutes in child study, leadership, and program planning in addition to a series of interesting and profitable programs. Names of delegates will be announced at the April meeting. A music memory contest for seventh and eighth grade pupils at the Stolp school was held last Wednesday. Records were played on a phonograph and the pupils were asked to recognize the Edwards, president of Free Church piece, the name of its composer, the Bible Institute of Chicago, will preach. nationality of the. composer, and the 5 p. m.- Mrs. S.
