To date, the slate of last v;eek candidates nominated at the caucus of the United People's party appears to b e unopposed in the forthcoming election. with the single exc eption of the office of Police Magistrate where the People's party candidate, Samuel ]. Nordorf, attorn ey, is to be opposed by Earl ~ · Pettibone, insurance broke r. who this week filed his petition as an independent candidate. Mr. Miller has bee n treasurer many ye ar s. Cazel and vonReinspe:g are completing their fir st t erms as Vtllage Tru stees , both serving on important board committees during their tenure of office. He served in the ~avy during the \Vorld war. Other candidate·s on the People's Indications are that Wilmette's 1929 Community Chest drive for charity and welfare funds will be a decided success. Hector Dodds, president 'of the Chest association, stated this week that drive captains who served both last year and this year report that not only is the J929 response a gre'a t deal better,. b~t a larger proportion of the subscrtpbons are paid in cash.
