This was signified last week when \V. S. Knudsen, president of the company, announced that March production would reach 140,000 units, an amazing output when it is considered that active production on the new six cylinder cars has been underway less than three months. Mr. Knudsen related that February production amounted to 121,249 'units. With only 22 working days in the month. daily production for the pe,riod averaged better than 5,500 a day. These figures lend further emphasis to the astounding achievement of the company last fall in changing over from production of fours to sixes with only a six weeks it1terim to effect necessary alterations. . Road '[ips Condition of roads in Illinois and nearby states are reported by the Chicago Motor club as follows : Illinois Reports from various places throughout Illinois indicate that paved roads are all open and good. Some gravel and earth roads are drying out and earth roads are not yet reported as generally impassable. Motorists should be cautioned to investigate earth roads before attempting to drive on them, however. Woodstock to Marengo-The gravel road connecting these places is in poor condition and traffic should use Illinois23 and Illinois-19 between these points. Illinois-10-The gravel fills west of Danville were recently reported in very poor condition. The state highway ~e partment maintains a team to asstst motorists who cannot get through on their own power. The Oakwood-Catlin county road is recommended to a\·oid these had places.
