Pup~ls Sanborn Hale of Winnetka. who has been New Trier Township collector for several years, ha·3 been recommended by the New Trier C i t i z e n s' league as candidate to succeed himself in that office. Mr. Hale is also vicepresident of the Winnetka Stat e bank and. with hi3 father, Henry R. Hale, who recently retired as presiclen t of that bank, has been a leader in north shore financ i a 1 circle s for Sanborn Hale many years. The office of township collector is one fraught with many difficulties e'3pecially at this season of th e year when that official is concerned with the task of obtaining prompt collec tion of the huge amount of taxes payable at this time f::>r state, county, municipal and attendant taxing purpose s. The salary for this arduou·3 work is like that in most township offices extremelY modest, and the dutic·3 constitute a high degree of public service. Mr. Hale has given unstintingly of his time and energies and the Citizens' league counted it a·.; a fortunate circumstance that he has consented to again be a candidate.
