WILMETTE LIFE November 15, 1929 Wilmette Playground and Recreation Activities 8 Teams Entered as · Women's Basketball League Play Starts Following two practice nights and )rganization meetings, eight teams have enrolled in the Playground and Recre~ tion board basketball league for women which starts the season's schedule next ~tonday evening at the Stolp gyn;:: nasium. Included in the eight teams arc the Horsefeathcr team, which has won six :onsecptive championships since its fir~t organization two years agoJ and the Roughneck team, runners up in volleyhaJl <md playground hall during the pa t :;cason. Despit e the fact that some of the strong team s were badly crippled by the new ruling in the women's sports league that participants must either he employed in 'Vilmctte or reside here, more than one hundred girls reported for the first two practice nights in basket hall, member s of t11c Play~rouncl and Recreation hoard staff aqnotmce.
