Butts, for seventeen years a teacher in the Wilmette public schools, passed away at her home in Evanston, Thur~day evening, Jan- ' 10 uary . Mrs. Butts taught for a number of years at the Central school. then, following the erection of the Laurel school went there as the third grade teache~. In these years abut six hundred children have been members of her classes. "Mrs. Butts passed all the quatifi~ cations of a superior teacher," according to Superintendent Harper. "She was well prepared for ;her work, a good st?dent of educatiOn _and was always m search of new thmgs that would make her work more efficient. She had the temperament of a real teacher, was always pleasant, calm and unruffled amid the, at times, trying conditions of school room .life, and her children responded by qmetly, orderly and efficiently going ?bout their dailv duties.
