'I Arrange Community X mas Service at the 'Living' Tree Arrangements for the annual Christmas Eve Carol service around the "living" Christmas tree at the Village hall were made at a meetig of the committee held Tuesday evenig at the home of Daniel M. Davis, director of recreation. The service is held annually on Chri3tmas eve under the supervision of tbe Playground and Recreation board in co-operation with the churches and various civic organizations of the village on Christmas eve . . It will begin at 7:30 o'clock. The service is a tradition in the village harkening back several years to the first municipal Christmas tree ceremony which was attended hy the majority of the villagers who grouped around the tree and sang carols. It was the custom of the carolers to visit the various parts of the village and sing carols, a feature that since has been discontinued. R. D. Burtner will lead the song service this year, and Joseph C. Schumacher will direct the band.
