School Soccer Leagues Terminate Busy Season Twenty-eight soccer teams from the Wilmette grammar school rooms are competing in four different leagues sponsored by the Wilmet.te Playground and Recreation board. These leagues are limited to grammar school boys and each grade from the fifth through the eighth has its own separate league. A round robin tournament in every case, with every team in one grade p!aying every other team in the same grade, is held. This gives an equal chance and at the same time makes all teams approximately the same size and weight. Two games are played every school afternoon starting at 4 o'clock at both \Vashington park and Village Green. Spirited games take place at both places. Tied games are just as prevalent as one-sided ones according to Glen \V. Gathercoal and Dudley C. Stone, instructors in charge of the leagues. The soccer league schedule will run until December 8 after which a shield will .be awardeq the winning team in each grade. CHILDREM!!· ! Mrs. Wilson had been ill since January. Sh~ is survived by her husband, an engineer, and thrCF daughters, Dorothy and Mrs. Elizabeth Jaeger, who live at the Wilson home, and Mrs. Mary Wilson Littell, of Cincinnati. Joseph Sears Opens Intra-Mural Soccer The intra-mural soccer season is under way at the Joseph Sears school in Kenilworth and will continue until january, when the speedball season opens, according to Robert W. Townley, athletic director at the ~c~ool. 'F~e boys of the school are dtvtded m.:o two classes, Wildcats and Tigers. Practice games are held on the first four days of the week, and every Friday the Tigers and Wildcats clash. At the end of the season a banner is awarded to the section winning the most soccer games.
