Charlie plays a wanderin g- lad who is mixed up in a series of hilarious adventures, chases, argument s. and ovations that land him in "The Circus" as a very fine fellow. ~1L·rna Kennedy, with red hair and ju :-.t fi ve feet two, with eyes of blue, i:-. his leading lady. With a sparkling vehicle tha t out ranks their previous screen triumphs in smartness and sophistication, Lew Cody and Aileen Pringle resume their co-starring teamwork in "Beau Broadway," which comes to the Teatro del Lago this Sunday, October 21. The story, written especially for the Cod){' Pringle team by Malcolm St. Clair, the Tex Rickard of the. films, who also directs the picture, has a swiftly moving plot laid in the colorful background of the sporting world. As a man-abouttown and fight promoter, Codv has given a masterful performance, and Miss Pringle as Yvonne, the girl he proposes to, only to discover he really loves his ward, Sue Carol, is excellent as the woman who "understands." "Sunnae" Is Great Picture The William Fox picture, "Sunrise," hailed as the greatest of all motion pictures, will be · on the screen at the Teatro del Lago next Monday and Tuesday. Fred W. Murnau apparent ly is as. much a master of direction in America as he was in Europe. It is his most powerful, most sensational. and most poignant work. The tale is of a man, his wife, and a not her woman. The man and his wife have a farm. They are happy until a woman from the city enters their lives. She instills in the young husband a de . ire to kill his wife. But the story does not end here. George O'Brien is the man, Janet Gaynor the wife, and \fargaret Livingston the other woman . The Teatro del Lago will present "The Foreign Legion" for three days next week, beginning on Wedn esday. The picture is a dramatic screen adaptation of "The ·Red Mirage," I. ·"· R: .Wylie's sensational novel. The novel was a gripping story of love and duty, set against the chromatic backgronnd of the French Foreign Legi on in Algiers. The picture is said to ncel the book in the colorful presentation of the lives and adventures, the passions and the impulses of these iron soldiers and the steely discipline t111der which they live.
