WILMETTE· · LIF£ October 19, 1928 Mrs. Benjamin F. Smith Taken by Death October II WESTMOOR TRAIL -in Winnetka Here, you have beauty, privacy, freedom from noise and ·dirt and traffic. On a private drive just completed, with all improvements underground. to be supplemented with landscaping in ke~ping with its high character, in a neighborhood unexcelled, close to schoolswith all the advantages of coon try life and yet within the limits of our own Village of Winnetka. Surely Westmoor Trail offers all that is desirable for that home you desire to build. In talking with a Real Estate man conversant with conditions in Winnetka, he made the statement that there were probably less than one hundred desirable lots 111 Winnetka, suitable for home building, many of them only fifty, seventy-five feet frontages, very few a hundred feet or more. One by one they are being picked off. and once gone, always gone. With approximately half of Westmoor Trail sold, even before improvements are completed, all purchased by Winnetka residents for home-building, is evidence that at the prices at which these lots are " offered, they are the outstanding big value for those who apprecia.te and can have home-sites of this character. Pre-School Circle (Contributed) The sixty men and women forq.m~te enough to be present at the openmg meeting of ~he Pre-school Circle on Wednesday evening, October 10, · are still thoughtfully considering the splendid address they heard. The speaker, Frank Slutz, of the Chicago Teachers' college, took as his subject "The Magic Years of Childhood," and, though his entire address would be well worth recording, one must con fine oneself to the high lights, which resolved themselves into the fundamental habits that the child of pre-school age must be taught if he would avoid the problems of adolescence. Teach the child. to take cheerfully the bumps and whacks of life; to make a little group of life habits. such as correct speech-a habit that will withstand the slang years, if established in the first years of life; to love beautiful things-art, music. Though all will not respond equally, love for beauty can be cultivated if the little child is sur~ rounded with it and its ears constantly filled with music.
