In spite of the fact that both the 85pound and tOO-pound teams of the Joseph Sears school in Kenilworth lost to Haven school of Evanston last week, football is a bigger success at the school ·this year than heretofore, according to Robert W. Townley, director of athletics. The intra-mural program has been carried out more thoroughly, and every boy from the second grade through the eighth plays football, Mr. Townley states. So enthusiastic have the asptrmg Red Granges become that they play football in their back yards and on vacant lots, and on their ·own initiative have organized class teams and scheduled games with neighboring schools. On Monday night the fifth grade team of Joseph Sears defeated the fifth grade of the Haven school, Evanston, 14 to 0. Russell Baker, brother of Marvin Baker, former New Trier High school star, is following in his brother's footsteps, for in this game he scored both touchdowns. The girls of the Joseph Sears school are now playing touch football similar to that played by college fraternities.
