A full program of athletics, including short hikes and over-night hikes is planned. A group of Boy Scouts from Troop 13 was to take the first hike of the season to Deer Grove this Friday night. This troop now numbers 58 Scouts, and Mr. Townley plans to take about a third of that number out on each hike. Boys younger than twelve years are not to be neglected, Mr. Townley reports, as there is an organization of Junior Scouts for boys from about etght years old up to twelve. The first hike of the season for this group. to be taken a week from this Saturday, will be in the form of an initiation for the new members. The boys will go to Camp Howell, two miles west of Glencoe. An extensive athletic program for Kenilworth girls is also planned. Miss Gertrude Herrick is the new director of physical education for girls who will assist Mr. Townley. Contests with neighboring teams will be started when the season gets· under way. wm I Name Miss Grace Gayton Public School Librarian Miss Grace Gayton, of Beloit, Wis., is the new librarian for the Wilmette Public schools, succeeding Miss Alice ·Stevens who will be at the ] oliet High school this year: Miss Gayton comes from a Council Bluffs, Ia.,· high school, where she has had four years' experience. The new second grade teacher to take the place of Miss Dorothy Nash at the Howard school has been chosen. She is Miss Appelonia Petrie. Miss Petrie comes from Dowagiac, Mich., where she has taught four years. Miss Nash will attend the University of Illinois. Mrs. Oliver A.
