E. Moore, health commissioner of the village. Whooping 'cough still hangs on, but the number of ca'ies of that disease reported is much less than a few week · ago. At the beginning of July there were about fifty cases of whooping cough, while on August 1 only 14 places remained placarded. The health commissioner's office has again issued a warning to keep coughing children at home in order to prevent the spread of the. disease, which has been especially noticeable along the north shore this summer. Three ca~es of chicken pox and one of pneumonia were reported at the beginning of this month.
