Health Cards Aid in Correction of Phys. ical Defects Health examination cards, to be used in connection with the annual examinations of school children for p9ssible defects in health and teeth, are being mailed out by the health department of the Wilmette schools this week. They are to be returned to the school offices at the opening of the school next fall. One of the cards is a blank to b e used by the · family physician in cas e the examination is made by him and the other is a card to be filled out bv a dentist after the child's teeth hav~ been inspected and placed in good condition. TlH; procedure of the health department of the schools provides for an examination once a year. This examination may be made by the family physician or the school nurse. The school nurses are experienced in detecting physical defects and an examination by them is considered by the schools to be entirely satisfactorv. However, the examination may not be considered as comprehensive as desifed by some of the parents, in which case the parents are entir~ly at liberty to have the examination made by a physician. In a letter mailed with the cards it was stated: "The health department feels that no single factor contributes as much t6 the health and well being of the child as the care of the teeth . \Ve believe that all children should visit a dentist twice a year for inspection and care. Attention should be given to thi s during the summer vacation · and the card returned to th e school." A MESSAGE To Peopl~ Who Have Longed to Find Such a Home As This _. _.
