Golfers T·r1i 0 t to Pla:v Revamped; llliHois Coarse Although the weather has been chilly it hasn't effected the ardor of the members of the Illinois Golf club just west of Gl~ncoe, as was evidenced by the fact that more than fifty players, ma~1y of them of the fair sex, pulled out their golfing implements last Sunday and did a round of the course. They found the course in fine condition, the putting greens in particular being velvety. The course never has been in such good shape at the start of a season. The course is slightly changed from last year and this revamping was one of the reasons for the appearance of so many players last Sunday. AI. Espinosa, the club professional who had a mighty sporty links last year has lengthened three of the holes, number four, six .and seven, by utilizing the s p e c i a I tees built for the district championship of the P. G. A. last summer. . The changes· add 125 yards to the length of the course, but par is to remain unchanged at 71. Come and hear the reports of the inspiring talks and splendid information which our delegates had the privilege of hearing that we too may be energized into greater activity in our association. Mrs. ·Lucy Stalling, Mrs. H. Otto VonDerHoff and Mrs. H. A. Storms were our delegates. There will be the following ten minute talks : Miss Anne L. Whitmack, Village librarian, will speak to us on "Summer Reading" and will have a number of books on display. Daniel M. Davis, Village Recreational directbr, will speak to us on "Summer Recreation in Wilmette." ]. R. Harper, Village superintendent of schools, and Lowell F. Todd, prialcipal of the Howard school, will speak on "School Development in Wilmette." The Kindergarten mothers will be hostesses. · There will be a teacher and two mothers in the Kindergarten room at the Howard school to care for small children up to and including the third grade while the mothers attend the meeting.
