We were driving through Garfield Park. Here and there we passed little patches of bright blue spring flowers in bloom under the sheltering bushes in the park. But we were on our way to a flower festival of such significance that our own garden variety of flowers passed almost unnoticed. We were going to the Easter Flower show at the Garfield Park conservatory. There is a great artist at the head of the c~>nservatory, August Koch, who uses flowers instead of paint~ to get his color effects. His flower picture-s cannot be hung in a gallery and handed down to posterity. Their life is brief and if you want to see them, Mrs. Edgar Foster Alden of Win- you must go while the pictures last.
