The home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Field, 13).1 Elmwood avenue, was the scene of a small, quiet wedding last Saturday evening, when Miss Doris Lucille Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Myers of Stockton, IlL became the bride of Harry Bryson Field. A supper was served after the ceremony which took place at 8 o'clock. The bridge wore a frock of pink georgette and carried sweet peas and roses. Her only attendant, her sister, Miss Loris Myers, was in orchid georgette and carried lavender and white ffowers. Paul Hermsmeier of lt'reeport, Ill. served as Mr. Field's best man. The bride and groom left immediately afterwards on a short motor trip and (eturned to be the guests of honor at a dinner given by Mr. Field's mother Tuesday evening. Three plays are being considered by the play reading committee of the North Shore Theater Guild, one of which will be chosen for the. next offering of the Guild. The three plays under consideration are "Caesar's Wife " by Somerset Maugham; "The Metr~poulus Secret," by Karl Capek; and one called "Tons of Money." As soon as one is decided upon, plans will . go forward toward s~lectin~ a c~st and starting the machmery m motton for its presentation along the north shore, beginning March 6. The privilege of acting in North Shore Theater Guild productions is highly valued by actors and actresses in north shore towns. This was proved when about one hundred amateurs appeared at the Guild try-outs Monday afternoon and evening, January 30, at the Winnetka Community House. Most of the candidates have had experience in theater groups in their communities, and all seemed eager to give the Guild's new director, David Owen, a favorable impression of their voice, appearance and talent in a sketch lasting barely two minutes. Mr. Owen was assisted by Mr5. Laird Bell, ){ rs. Frederick Dickinson and Lewis Ellsworth Laflin in hearing all the candidates. Information regarding previous experience of each candidate was carefully noted, so that the business of selecting a cast for future Guild productions will be easier. Since the Guild attempts to select actors that most closelY. resemble the character to be played, the file thus made will prove valuable. 13" .I a z. ·aDd Ytt~etables ~- ......................... ~~c: Wiacooaia Potatoes.
