Wilmette Pupils Compete in .Music Contest Saturday A team selected from pupils of the Byron Stolp school will be ente~ed i.n the Music Memory contest, whtch ts to be held -tomor.row afternoon under the auspices of the In and About Chicago Musical Supervisor's club in Orchestra hall Chicago. The contest will be the' seventh in which Byrou Stolp teams have been ~ntered and in each of the six preceedmg years they have taken one of the three first prizes. The Stolp team ranked second last year, competing with about thi.rty-five teams from Chicago and vi cinity. The contestants are g.raded upon seven points. A Beethoven program, held in commemoration of the one hundredth anniversary of the great composer's death, was presented during the assembly program vVednesday morning, March 23, at the Byron Stolp school. The program was arranged under the direction of ~Irs. Clark, musical director of the ~chool , and consisted of numbers sung by the Boys' ano Girls' Glee clubs of the . school; several sonatas played by Miss Helene Grossenbacher, who at the same time . gave an interesting talk on their musical context, and papers read by ·two of the pupils, Jim Ricks and Doris Tan shill, on the life of the musician.
