"never can understand about women,"-least of all his clever wife. Abram Mendenhall, as Hector Chadwick, the very English, very-eager-toadvise brother-in-law, was inimitable. LIFE 19 ~ I "ARIAD·N E" DELIGHTS Theater Guild Gives Excellent Inter· pretation of A. A. Milne's Comedy of English Life · English life, "Ariadne," presented during the past week by the North Shore Theatre guild, is a piquant farce of such charm and fineness of humor that one wonders why it has not been produced since its run in. New York over two years ago. The story is slight, but the characters are so finely drawn and so true to human nature that the audience is kept chuckling with delight through the entire play. Mrs. Richard Bentley, of 'Lake Forest, played the title role, Ariadne Winters, with lovable, delicate touches and a delicious, impish glee. Lawrence l I By R·. L. P. A. A.
