March 4, 1927 \\'ILMETTE LIFE 23 Scout Leaders Inspect lntemational Club Now Cabin Site in Preserve New at National College The International dub, organized last week ·by the foreign students of the National Kindergarten an~ Elementary college, promises to be an unusually interesting and worth while organization. Twelve students from foreign countries, founders of the club, together with an equal number of American students, selected from the list of applicants because of outstanding interest in foreign countries, form ·the active membership for the present year. Former students of the college who came from other countries or who are engaged in work in other countries, are eligible to associate membership. The club will make a study of the conditions and problems which must be faced in other lands, with the hope of fostering a better understanding and a truer friendship between individuals, and eventually between nations. Miss Penka Kassabova of Sophia, Bulgaria, a sophomore, was elected chairman of the club, the membership of which includes the following students from foreign countries: · Dagrie Aquist, Sweden; Jane Gdulewicz, Poland; Madelyn Chen, China; Alice Ling, China; Vera Hunte, British West Ir.dles; Clara Tutt, and Florence Tritt, Canada; Lucy Russell, missionary to Japan; Anna Brumbaugh, mis sionary to India; Edith Shufelt, mi ssionary to China; Elizabeth Hobart (of Evanston), missionary to China. A group of Scout leaders from the various troops of the North Shore council enjoyed a fellowship hike last Sunday afternoon to the site in the Forest Preserve west of Glencoe where a cabin for week-end troop hikes i~ being built. Logs are being gathered and work will soon begin on the actual erection of the cabin, which is to be 20x40 feet, and will conta!n a fireplace. The cabin is being secured for the Boy Scouts of the north shore area, largely through the efforts of County Commissioner Oscar W. Schmidt, of Wilmette. Mrs. Harriet D. Kerswill of Indianapolis was the guest last week of Mrs. T. B. MacRae of 518 Linden avenue. Mrs. Kerswill, a former president of the Presbyterian Training school of Chicago, was entertained at a large luncheon at Marshall Fields last Friday by a number of friends and former W. C. T. U.
