The Golden Text was from Romans 5:1, "Being justified by faith, we have peace wi.t h God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Among the citations which com· prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: .. He that ove~ cometh the same shall be clothed m white ~aiment · and I will not blot out his name out 'of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Be· hold I stand at the door, and knock: if a~y man hear my voice, and open the door I will come in to him, and will sup' with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne" (Revelation 3:5, 20, 21). The Le sson -Sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science text book. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: " If Truth is overcoming error in your daily walk and conversation, you can finally say, 'I have fought a good fight ... I have kept the faith,' because you are a better man. This is having our part in the at-one-ment with Truth and Love" (p. 21).
