Hunter, 801 Fifteenth street, \vill celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of his ordination on Sunday, June 20, when he will assist Dr. Hubcrt Carleton at the morning services at St. A ugustine's Episcopal church . He will also deliver a short address on some of his experiences during his fi ft ,. years of church work. He was ordained at the Seabury Theological seminary, Fariba ult , Minn., on June lR, 1876. All of his· classmates are now dead and very few who attended the school when he was there are now ali ve. His first church work \\·as in western Minr1esota and he was later called to Janesville, Minn. His first actual church service was at St. 11 ark's church in Evanston, v.;h"rc . he assisted the pastor. a friend whom he was visiting. After the servicc the two wa1ke(l up along the lake to \Vinn ets<:a, to hold a service there. · TJ1ey were una bl e t o see any stgns of ~'ilmette, for in those davs the settlement was farther to the west and nothing hut woods bordered the lake shore. Rev. Hunter had a parish at Indianapolis for 12 years, after ·which he was at Louis,·ill.e for three vcars. but was forced to leave because ·of the climate. He later accepted a post in Taladega. Ala .. where he staved for 'm anv vears. and finally closed his active mi;1i~terial \\'Ork with several years as pastor of Trinit.\· church. Mob1'le, Ala. He is the author of several religiou s wc·rks and has published a book tracin .l.!· llw history of his family, particu Jar!_,. through the last four generations. R 2 e\· .
