Owing to illness, the speaker of the afternoon, : M ary Jane Allen, was unable to · give her talk on "Period Furnit.urc and Fabrics." The singer of the afternoon was Florence Lucas, contralto, with Mr. Brown at the piano. She prQved herself to be an artist of high order. Her group of songs was most charmingly rendered and received with great pleasure and applause. The meeting closed with the social hour and afternoon tea.
